What We Actually Do

Interior & Exterior Painting, Remedial Repairs and Heritage Restoration in Sydney

Most of our work is ordinary house painting, with the preparation and repairs done before a brush goes near it. On bigger period homes, we take on the whole restoration from start to finish.

Large & Heritage Projects

Restoring a whole period home, stage by stage

Big jobs work differently. A full heritage restoration is not a paint job with extra steps. It runs in stages over months, and each one has to be finished before the next can start. Here is exactly how it goes.

An ornate period interior with detailed ceiling and heritage finishes

Why an old home is treated differently

Period homes were built to breathe. Solid masonry, lime mortar and timber all move and handle moisture in ways a modern build does not. Seal one up with the wrong products and you trap water inside the walls. The paint lifts, the render blows, and the damage carries on out of sight.

On an older home we match the materials to how it was built and repair from the inside out, so the house can keep doing what it was designed to do.

3 to 12+Months, typical
1Team throughout
6Stages, in order
  1. Walking through a space to assess its condition before work begins01
    Week one

    On-site assessment

We walk the whole house with you, inside and out, and read what is actually going on: where moisture is getting in, what has moved, what is sound and what is not.

  2. A finished feature wall showing an agreed colour and texture02
    Before we start

    Scope, colours and quote

You get an itemised scope and a realistic timeline, not a vague number. Colours and finishes are agreed up front so there are no decisions being rushed later.

  3. Failing paint stripped off timber cladding back to bare boards03
    Stage one on site

    Strip back

Failing paint and old coatings come off until we reach something stable. This is where the real condition of the house shows itself, and often where the scope firms up.

  4. Weathered roof timbers being made sound before repainting04
    Usually the longest stage

    Repair and make sound

Render, masonry, plaster and timber are put right, and damp or salt problems are treated at the source. Nothing gets painted until what sits under it is solid.

  5. Fine heritage detail primed, painted and picked out in gilt05
    Once repairs are done

    Prime, paint and detail

Everything is primed and painted in colours that suit the age of the home, then the fine work: cornices, parapets, cast-iron lacework and timber detail.

  6. Finished, freshly painted verandah timbers sealed and handed back06
    Final week

    Seal, walk through, hand back

The finished work is sealed against Sydney weather, then we walk the whole home with you together and hand it back sound, protected and looking the way it should.

Every old home hides something different. The only honest way to price one is to walk through it.

Why Choose Us

Painters who fix the problem first

We are a small outfit that does the repairs and the painting. That is what separates a finish that still looks right in ten years from one that lasts a season. On an older home it matters even more.

28 years on the tools

Nearly three decades in the trade, with 15 years spent on heritage homes from start to finish.

One team the whole way

Stripping back, repairs and painting are all handled by us. Nothing falls through the gaps between trades.

Built for big jobs

We are comfortable with jobs that run for months. Large, involved restorations are the jobs we are set up for.

Right for the age of the home

We match materials and colours to how the home was built, so the work protects its character.

Done properly once

We would rather spend an extra day on preparation than come back in two years. The finish is only as good as what is under it.

You get the owner, not a middleman

The person who quotes your job is the person who does it. You always know who is working on your home.

Who Does The Work

The person who quotes your job does the job

I have been in the trade for 28 years, painting homes right across Sydney, inside and out. For the last 15 I have spent most of my time on older and heritage properties, taking them from worn out through to fully repaired and repainted.

Plenty of my work is simple enough: a room, an interior, an exterior repaint. But I also take on the big jobs most people turn down. Some have run for more than a year, and that is the work I enjoy most.

“Whether it is one room or a whole terrace, I would rather spend the extra day on preparation than come back in two years.”

FAQs

Questions, answered

No. We paint and repair homes of all ages across Sydney, inside and out. Older and heritage homes are what we know best, and where the bigger restoration jobs come from, but a simple repaint on a modern house is just as welcome.

Yes. Plenty of our work is a single room, an interior, or one exterior. You do not need a whole-house project to call us.

Yes. We strip surfaces back, carry out the repairs and do the painting. You deal with one team the whole way through instead of booking separate trades.

It depends on the size and condition of the home. Smaller jobs take a few days to a few weeks. Full restorations often run for months, and some larger jobs have taken over a year. You get a realistic timeline with your quote.

Yes. Large, complex restorations are the work we enjoy most. We are set up for the jobs that others turn down.

Yes, and there is no obligation. We look at the home in person, talk through what you want, and give you a clear itemised quote. Anything beyond a single room is difficult to price honestly over the phone.

On an older home, that is the whole point. We use breathable, age-appropriate materials and finishes so the work protects the character of the house instead of trapping problems inside it.

We work on homes right across the Sydney area. Ask when you get in touch and we will let you know.

Just finished painting our house! Went beyond — even just before Christmas, they came in clutch. Spotless and attention to detail was unbelievable. Finally someone who is an expert and not a slap dash painter. Thank you Osama!
